Jared likes to watch Glenn Beck and I thought what he had to say about Pres. Hinckley sums up my thoughts on him.

A talent I do not possess....
So although I have a few talents that come in handy, playing the piano, organizing things, and I consider myself a great driver (others including jared, triple A auto club, and I am sure some fellow drivers may disagree), there is one talent I do not have and really wish I did. Sewing. I do have a sewing machine and have attempted to sew some things like my scrapbook pages and alter something for my mom which ended up being taken to a tailor with instructions not to tell them that her daughter tried to do it. My mother in law Donna on the other hand can sew. Very well I might add. The picture here is of Mackenzie's room on the day we decided to paint. Normally not all the furniture would be in the middle of the room. We painted and when my in-laws came out for Thanksgiving Donna said she would sew Mackenzie's bedding if I wanted. So of course I spent the next few weeks picking out fabric. During Thanksgiving she sewed like a mad woman and finished almost all of it while she was here. I was impressed it all went so fast, it would have taken me that long just to figure out how to thread the machine and we won't even get started on the whole bobbin thing. So below are the finished pictures. She just recently sent a package containing some shams and what she had done with all the extra material. I think it all turned out very very cute. So thank you thank you Donna we (especially me) love it.
The bedding (even with out furniture it is still cute)
The oh-so-cute ottoman from the extra material
Another view of the bed with the ribbon board on the dresser (Teresa my SIL, helped me do one of those ribbon bulletin boards with extra fabric. I ran out of ribbon and still need to get some buttons to put on it. One of these days it will get done, it will require me to use a needle and thread to put the buttons on so it may be awhile)

Lazy Writers
Okay I have to vent about the dumb writer's strike. If I have to hear one more thing about it I am going to scream. I am a TV junkie. I admit it. Although I love summers for swimming and all the outdoor stuff I hate it for the fact that I get no new shows and just a bunch of repeats except for my beloved shows of the summer Big Brother and So you think you can dance. To be honest I really have no idea what the strike is all about other than that every Thursday night after I get my kids to bed and I sit down with a sigh on my couch ready to be transported to seattle grace hopspital I am severly disappointed. All I have to say is everyone has jobs they wish were better or things they could change about their job. Of course we all would like to make more money i mean come on people, but I don't see eveyone else striking on their jobs. So to the what I am now calling lazy writers out there, get off your couch watching the re-runs you wrote and write something new. The fact that you bring pure enjoyment to us fans should be reason enough to end the strike right? I have to say I did see a good movie the other night since there is nothing else on TV. A bunch of us girls went to see Juno. Anyone else see it? I loved it. I laughed and I cried although not as much as Jamie since she left the movie without most of the makeup she came with:)

Our Vacation and Everything else
I got smart this time and used the photo montage stuff to post all the photos. We went to Utah for a short trip after New Years. We went up for Kristal's (my SIL) baby shower but jared also wanted to do some snowboarding and there was PLENTY of snow for that. We also put ethan in some snowboarding lessons for a day. I think he thought it would be easier so he got a little frustrated but all in all said he had fun and would like to go again. We also took the kids to the Dino Museuem at Thanksgiving Point. Well worth the money we spent a few hours there and probably could have spent more if Mom and Dad weren't tired and ready to go. We had a horrible drive back. We got caught in the worst snow storm especially for us who are not used to driving in it. It took us almost 6 hours to get to Cedar City from Salt Lake. Usually it takes us just under three hours. It made for a long trip home. I also posted a picture of what we got the kids for their birthday back in Nov. Jared along with my brother in law Eric (many thanks) built them a swing set from sctrach. They designed, bought and built all of it. Jared still needs to put the posts in so that the "clubhouse part" is more enclosed but the kids have been more than happy to use it regardless of the total finish. Last but not least, Ethan finally lost his first tooth. He was more than excited. The toothfairy gave him a dollar. Bad timing for losing a tooth after a birthday, christmas, and a trip to utah. I think he would have been happy with a quarter. So that is us in a nutshell for the last few weeks. We were sorry we didn't get to see anyone while we were in utah but with the outings and snowboarding and baby shower we decided to make the trip less jam packed and eventually make another trip up there just to see people. Hopefully everyone else had a great holiday break and that those with kids back in school are enjoying it as much as I am!

I'm Done.... I think
So after my last post my friend who seems to be a whiz at this blog background stuff sent me a comment leading me to a site with pre-made backgrounds that will not delete all of your sidebar stuff. Thank you Thank you Jamie. So for right now I think I am done messing with the blog. I have spent more time changing it than I have posting. Hopefully I will get a little better at doing all this stuff and it won't take me so long. Although Jamie said it would take less than five minutes and it did!!! Thanks again. The blog I went to is called http://www.cutestblogontheblock.blogspot.com/ so easy even for a computer dummy!

Getting Caught Up
So in my attempt to try to stay up to date with all the cute blogs out there, I have wasted half my day and realized how little I know about computers. I have finally ended up with this background and still have some updating to do since it erases all of my links on the side. Could someone just bring all of my cute pre-made blogging templates back? Anyway maybe by the end of the week I will get some new pics posted we have been busy the last few weeks with lots of new pictures. I also have my doctors appt tomorrow where I will hopefully find out for sure what we are having although I am still telling myself that it is a boy. If anyone has some easy instructions on changing blog templates or making cute headers let me know. FYI I still have no idea how anyone in the world can read that HTML stuff!
